About PestControlMatch

PestControlMatch (pestcontrolmatchusa.com) is a referral service for homeowners who think they have a pest. You tell us what you found and your ZIP code, and we pass the request to one independent pest control company that has asked to receive work there.

What we are, and what we are not

We are not a pest control company: we employ no technicians, hold no pesticide license, set no prices and answer for no one's work. Nor do we claim that any company we send a request to is licensed, insured or bonded, so check the license number with your state's pesticide regulator before the work starts.

The whole business model is that the company receiving your request pays us for it, and the how it works page walks through the details.

Why identification first, and why one state first

Most pests do not need a monthly plan, and some need no company at all. We built the site around the question a good technician asks first, which is what the pest actually is. Pest rules are state rules: the agency that licenses applicators, the wildlife rules and the health department data all differ by state. A page that gets one of those wrong costs a reader money, so we started with one state and wrote it carefully.

The city pages use U.S. Census data for housing age and home value and each county's health and animal control pages where those pages were available, and a page says so when nothing citable was found.

Why the cost ranges say estimate

Our cost ranges are estimates, not quotes. They start from published national ranges and are adjusted for what pest control workers in the state are paid, from federal wage data, with the fees companies pay the state in license fees shown beside them. None of it is a price list. The editorial policy explains how the estimates are built and when they are re-checked.

Editorial standards

Every guide lists its sources, and a fact we could not source is left out. Rules change, so check with your state's pesticide regulator before relying on any summary here. Read the editorial policy, and tell us if you find a mistake.
